      It was 1916 when, Robert Ganapole, began manufacturing packing trunks in a small corner of the Portland Waterfront. Exceeding the customer's expectations of quality and price were the cornerstones that built his business.

      In 1943, son-in-law Bill Simon opened a retail operation providing the best selection of luggage and travel trunks in the Northwest. Over the next 56 years, Portland Luggage Co. has established the standard for quality brand names, the latest styles, designs, fabrics, the highest level of customer service and the most competitive pricing anywhere in the country. 

 

      In 1984 Portland Luggage Expanded to the Beaverton area at Washington Square. The business soon outgrew its 3,000 Square foot location and in 1994 opened its new store in Beaverton Town Square.

      In 1999 the third generation family members, Gregg Simon and Wendy Liebreich, opened the Portland Luggage Travel Superstore in Downtown Portland.
